N2PH Annual Report

2023 N2PH Highlights:

  • The N2PH Residency Program enrollment increased to reflect residents from 26 different states.
  • The N2PH Residency Program partnered with New Jersey Association of County and City Health Officials (NJACCHO) and New Mexico Department of Health to host cohorts for public health workers and public health nurses, respectively.
  • Nine presentations were conducted about public health training and workforce best practices in collaboration with the Region II Public Health Training Center, Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center, and other national conferences.
  • University of Wisconsin-Madison Population Health Institute completed an evaluation of Cohorts 1-4.
  • 93% of N2PH Alumni survey respondents from Cohorts 1-3 are employed at their same workplace one year after graduation.

2022 N2PH Highlights:

  • The N2PH Residency Program launched its first cohort in September 2021, which had 24 public health professionals from Wisconsin and Virginia.
  • The N2PH Residency Program partnered with the Alaska Health and Social Services Division of Public Health and launched its third cohort to offer co-facilitated model to public health nurses in Alaska.
  • External Partners conducted stakeholder interviews to establish a fee structure for the program, which was implemented in summer 2022.
  • University of Wisconsin-Madison Population Health Institute was contracted to evaluate assessment data and conduct focus groups for the first four cohorts of the program.
  • 86% of residents in cohort 1 and 2 reported they would recommend N2PH.
