Deborah Heim

Deborah Heim has been a public health nurse since she completed her BSN in nursing in 2013. She completed her MN at UWM in May 2015 and holds the Advanced Public Health Nursing certification. She holds a PhD in Foods and Nutrition from Kansas State University and an MS in Exercise Science from Georgia State University. She is currently the public health nurse consultant (PHNC) for the Wisconsin Division of Public Health, Office of Policy and Practice Alignment (OPPA) for the SE region. As the PHNC, she has developed the PHN network, provided technical assistance in organizational competencies to local health departments, and was one of the leads on the development of the public health nurse residency program. She serves on the DPH workforce development team and serves as DPH staff lead for the Cornerstone Learning Management System implementation.
