Kate Gillespie, DNP, RN, CPH, FAAN is a Clinical Assistant Professor and population lead for the Population Health DNP. She is also a faculty consultant for the New to Public Health Residency Program. Dr. Gillespie has extensive experience in governmental public health and clinical nursing practice in maternal and child health. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Community and Public Health from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her interests include monitoring the effectiveness of integrating public health programs that support women during the perinatal period with clinical care and supporting public health nursing practice.
